Type Locality and Naming

The type section is on the highway from 2 km east of Sanglangniuyan Village to Ruyakou, Wangmo County, Guizhou. It was named by Xiong Jianfei et al. in 1983.


Lithology and Thickness

Limestone. Dark-gray or light-gray moderately thick-bedded sparite bioclastic limestone and calcarenite, occasionally intercalated with chert lamellas and lumps; ~300 m thick.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Conformable contact with the underlying Xiaruya Fm.

Upper contact

Conformable contact with the overlying light-gray calcarenite and bioclastic limestone (of Xiaolangfengguan Fm?) which yield conodonts Idiognathodus, etc. and fusulinid Pseudostaffella.

Regional extent

Coeval with upper Lingun Fm of more shallow-water facies
